A Journey to the Source of the Oxus
Intinerary

Day 1: Kabul
Day 2: Fly Kabul – Faisabad. Drive to Ishkashim
Day 3: Ishkashim – Qala Panj
Day 4: Qala Panj - Boroghil
Day 5: Boroghil
Day 6: Boroghil – Small Pamir
Day 7–15: Trekking
Day 16: Boroghil
Day 17: Boroghil – Qala Panj
Day 18: Qala Panj – Ishkshim
Day 19: Ishkashim – Faisabad
Day 20: Faisabad – Kabul
Day 21: Kabul

Two full days in Faisabad have been programmed to allow for slippages in travel time. It is a wonderful mountain town on a fast-flowing river, and is the only major town in Afghanistan that has not seen war or Taliban occupation.

Some variations on this are possible. It would also possible to explore some of the other sources of the Oxus in the Small Pamir and travel by horse to the border with China and Lake Chakmarti.
